Revolution is at hand. What are you R-Evolving to?

We are in for a ride, folks.  Yesterday I felt like I was in a blender.  So much information is hitting us now.  There is so much for us to feel, perceive, understand and adapt to. It's all wonderful, scary and exciting.

I am re~branding to "Auretha". My friends used to tell me I was like a little "Oprah". I have avoided this simplicity because my name is unusual and difficult to spell. Just recently, I discovered why my name is magic.

Here's the message. Revamp.

Revolt against what no longer works.
Let go of your Resistance to change. What doesn't bend, breaks.
DeClutter. Update. Transform. Adapt. Adjust.
BREATHE. Alot. Stretch your body and your mind.
Listen with your Spirit and your Heart.
Why are you here on this planet?

My client transformations have been amazing to witness. Some of them look like different PEOPLE from when I met them 3 or 4 years ago.
Many of you might be leaving jobs, changing industries, leaving relationships.
It is that time.

If you resist, it will be painful and costly.

Let go of your old crappy stories. Choose what feels SIMPLER, EASIER, MORE FUN, LIGHTER. Begin Again. Do over!
If you say, What does this have to do with Image Coaching & Styling? Umm....everything.

Your image is your extension of you in this physical reality.

If you're not changing right now, you might be dying. If you are changing right now, you are becoming the more expanded version of the most wonderful you that exists.

I am an AGENT OF CHANGE.

If you want help expressing what has changed on your inside, to your outside, call me.

Here's today's "WOO~woo" (meaning: Airy-Fairy esoteric stuff) Astrology Site newsletter that's great. Even I don't understand everything she's saying but see if you can distill the juicy bits.

Here's a friend's recent description of me and what I do & what I intend to do MORE:
Has anyone told you today that you are an incredible encourager, an authentic, gorgeous, inspirational woman? A wonderful friend, a truth-speaking prophetic restorer of souls that have lost their way? If not, you just did. You are.....and I LOVE you!

Play full out with your hearts, loves. We're only guaranteed this moment.

5 fashion no no's I see all the time+ MAGIC SHOPPING

Hi Sexy Sweethearts*
It's my favorite time of year and one of my busiest seasons. I have a MAGIC CLIENT VIDEO HERE if you're in a hurry. If not, read my fashion words to the wise and then catch the video below!
Fall is a wonderful time to shift into clothing that can feel more comfortable and stylish. Unfortunately there are many new trends out there RIGHT NOW that look really bad if you don't know how to wear them (like trapeze tops and light blue jeans). Many trends should never be considered because they are a terrible idea in the first place! If it looks bad to you, it probably is! Trust your instincts.
I'm a classic stylist. I love clothing that is fresh and stylish but also stands the test of time in quality, design and flatter-appeal. I have pieces in storage that will come out again because they are classic standards. Let me help you navigate new fashion styles by showing you what works best for your body type and personal style.
Often what trips people up is failing to understand their body proportions. One of my clients kept purchasing tops that hit her at her widest point and made her look easily 20# over her fit weight. I won't be able to tell you what's right for you without seeing you but many people cut themselves off or add weight in the wrong section of their body.
You may have heard me bitch about capri pants on men and women. Cutting the leg line is the classic faux pas for ruining a long, lean look. Keep those jeans long, skimming your curves, dark and with something near 5% stretch. If you're going to chop the leg line, do it at the knee with shorts or cut-offs, just above or just below the knee~whichever is more flattering. (Here's a bit more on jeans and pants.)
For skirts, if you have a small waist and larger hips, grab a few fuller 50's skirts now and the always classic A-line. If you're thicker in the middle and slim in the hips, pencil skirts are always sexy and they do work on all body types. Avoid long, ankle length skirts unless you are taller than 5'5" and willing to wear a taller heel. I MEAN IT! Look for comfy, easy care fabric. To look gorgeous around your face, grab some gorgeous scarves in your best colors. You can't go wrong with turquoise and coral.
Men, make sure your jeans are slim (not skinny), dark wash, and have some stretch too. DO NOT WEAR JEANS THAT ARE SAGGING OR TOO BIG. Highlight your style with your shirts and jackets and try to choose blue every time over black, especially near your face. Yeah, those sparkly, bling~y shirts and jeans are out. You probably didn't like them anyway!
Light blue or white jeans are great but only if you know how to style them!

One 3 hour session with me in your closet or shopping can take care of an entire season of WHAT TO WEAR! Choose easy. Let me do it!

I wanted to share a video example of the miracles I create with my clients.
This particular client HATES SHOPPING! She thinks it's a big, fat, waste of time! She'd rather be out surfing, dancing or riding her bike in the mountains.
How do I work with clients who have so much else they would prefer doing?
Verrry strategically!!
I shop for you without you having to go shopping at all! Personal shopper and stylist go hand in hand. I bring the "fresh catch" to your home or office where you try them on in comfort and I return items that didn't work, if any!
Save time & save money for greater joys in your life. Let me style you!
My clients are busy, successful, normal folks who'd prefer to look great without trying. Choose smart and fun. Skip the dread. Hire me instead!

letter from Cheryl Merz - Cheryl@enchantedeye.com

Dear Auretha,

Thank you for the amazing work you have done transforming my look and my relationship with clothing and my closet.

You guided me on the process of seeing my goals and life direction, through the emotional minefield I called my closet, into a new way of looking in the mirror and out in the world feeling and looking my essence.

The closet sorting experience was priceless. I learned what fits and doesn’t fit, the styles that are right with my curves and new ways to wear what I already had. We cleared out at least 35% of my clothes and shoes and already I had a more optimistic view of getting dressed in the morning.

Shopping with you was exciting and incredibly enlightening. My old way of shopping was to choose colors and textures that I liked and then to try to make them work on my body or with other items in my closet. You introduced me to a brand new clothing palette – new combinations, textures, patterns, styles and lots of zing and bling! You moved my shopping experience into a realm of magic, wonder and fearlessness. I expect more from the clothing I choose and my closet is an exciting place to visit – I love the colors, styles and the connection that seems to extend from me through them.

My wardrobe has become an extension of my essence and my spirit. What that means to me is that I now I love to get dressed in the morning. Choosing clothes used to be one of the most stressful parts of my day. I’d change two or three times before I settled on an outfit that usually felt awkward and self-conscious. Now, I dress in clothes and shoes that feel comfortable, fit me well and that don’t distract me throughout the day. So, not only do I think I look better, but I think you improved my work efficiency.

Closet clearing and addressing my body issues would not be at the top of my list for fun. Yet you made the process safe, fun, energizing, informative and freeing. I now have tools that I can use both when I shop and when the emotions show up in front of the dressing room mirror.

I appreciate your love, support, encouragement and strength through this process.

Please feel free to quote my experiences as well as to use me as a reference in the future.

With gratitude and love,

Cheryl Merz

Beginning my Transformation- Sarah Parris

THE BEGINNING...Retha and I sat down for our first “interview” and she first set our intention in the beginning of the session, as to what my goals and hers were for our time together. She told me that a lot of the questions asked I may not necessarily know the answer to, or we may think of something or more later in the session and we could go back. I sat there naively thinking that it would be that I would think of the color purple was actually my favorite and not blue. But, in actuality this was a much deeper conversation of whether people judged the way I looked, or if I had ever had a traumatizing event in my life and more. I answered honestly that I hadn’t, I grew up in a very loving home that if I acted a certain way I never got in trouble – I was always accepted. The problem is that I am judged by my family now and my childhood in itself was a pretty traumatizing. Discovering this with Retha in my living room, I know that I will look back for years to come and know that this was the beginning of my transformation.
I was brought up in a very conservative religious childhood, where as long as no questions were asked and no boundaries were crossed life was good. Those boundaries were not cutting my hair, wearing skirts and not ever having a choice in the matter, in clothes or in my life – we lived the way we lived because it was right. Turning eighteen my young heart knew that I couldn’t survive in the chains that had been put around me any longer. I left the church and the family that I adored, to stand up for myself which in itself created many new issues – I didn’t even know who I was. I was chastised and excommunicated from the people that I had grown up with and forced to live with new boundaries that had been created with my family. We were no longer able to spend holidays together or even have family dinner at the home at which I grew up in and had felt secure in. I do have to say that they did these things in blind love, they felt that if they created a gap large enough in my life – that I would have to come back. I cut my hair, and began to choose clothes that I thought would make me feel better – and yet without even knowing it I kept a lot of the old thoughts and dogmas even in my new life. I kept to a pretty bland palette so as to hide in the world instead of expressing myself through my clothes. It was over ten years since leaving that life that I knew, and yet I still fought within myself as to who I was and what I wanted in life. I had a good job and a cute family (which I focused all of my efforts on because as we all know it is so much easier to focus on someone else and their well being rather than spending time on yourself.)
I picked up a copy of the Catalyst a couple of months ago, a magazine that I had maybe picked up once before. There in lay an article that would speak to my soul. It was by Auretha Callison, self-proclaimed fashion maven. She told a story of a client that she had worked with, who, when they got to the point of clearing and making space in their jewelry, of opening Pandora’s box. I realized that I wanted to cleanse the old energies out of my closet and my little jewelry box and begin to wear things that “make you feel good” (Auretha’s article). I have barely begun my journey with Retha and yet I know that deep down I am changing my life – one day at a time.
